Event Speakers
Our first speaker is a man who is England’s most capped hooker of all time and is someone who has made 250 appearances for Northampton Saints. Dylan Hartley was made captain of England in January 2016 and in that year he captained England to their first Grand Slam in 13 years after holding out to secure a historic victory against France. Post Six Nations, Hartley then led England to 3-0 series whitewash against Australia in Australia. New Zealand-born Hartley captained England until the end of his international career in 2018.

Lewis Moody MBE will go down in history as one of England’s finest and most charismatic rugby players. The former England captain and World Cup Winner was nicknamed ‘Mad Dog’ for the endless commitment and fearlessness with which he played, he never left anything on the pitch. With 71 caps for his country, Moody has a host of accolades to his name including two Six Nations titles, two British & Irish Lions caps, seven Premiership triumphs and two Heineken Cup wins!

Gareth ‘Alfie’ Thomas is one of only five Welsh men to have played 100 or more games for their country, captaining the national side on 21 occasions. Thomas played three games for the British & Irish Lions on their 2005 tour of New Zealand. In 2010 Thomas made the move to Rugby League, playing 31 games for the Crusaders and four for the Welsh national side. Now a Rugby pundit for ITV, he has made appearances on a number of television series.

Scott Quinnell is one of few men who has represented his country in both Rugby Union & Rugby League and is someone who has played in the World Cups of both sports! He is regarded as arguably Wales’ best ever number 8, racking up 52 appearances in his Wales career whilst scoring an impressive 11 tries. Quinnell also started every test of the 2001 British & Irish Lions series, making him the third Lion speaking at The Brewery on the 6th March!
