The legend that is Geoff Hurst should need no introduction to any football fan in the room. Responsible for the famous ‘they think it’s all over’ commentary line. Still, the only man to score a hattrick in a World Cup Final when famously England beat West Germany 4-2 at the Old Wembley Stadium in 1966. Hurst scored a total of 24 goals in 49 appearances for England between 1966 and 1972. Hurst began his career with West Ham where he scored 242 goals in 500 first team appearances and won the Fa Cup. Hurst went on to play for Stoke, Cape Town City, West Brom, Cork and Seattle Sounders.
Graeme is well regarded as one of England’s greatest ever spinners. Graeme played India in his test debut 8 years after his international debut, and from that point never looked back. In 60 tests he took 255 wickets. This was prolific wicket taking, and far exceeded anyone else in that same time. He retired as England’s sixth highest wicket taker. In 2010 Swann played in all of England’s T20 World Cup games hosted in the West Indies which they went on to win. Swann’s performances won widespread applause for his ability to adapt to the different forms of the game and to retain control over his bowling.
England’s most prolific inside centre and a key member of an England side that dominated for years, Greenwood played for both Leicester Tigers and Harlequins and was part of the 2003 World Cup winning squad playing in all but one of that tournaments games. Greenwood finished the tournament as England’s joint top scorer with five alongside Josh Lewsey. Greenwood made 55 England appearances and scored a total of 31 tries for his country. Greenwood is now an established rugby journalist and one of the frontmen for Sky Sports’ rugby coverage.
